Much Ado in the Coleman House
Well, Brennan has kept busy - and kept us busy - in the last month since we updated our blog. We'll give you a low down of what's gone on and then you can take a look at the pics below. We celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving and Don's mom's birthday when Don's family came for a visit the first weekend in October. We held a Harvest Party for our building and had a great time eating, watching "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" and hanging out with old and new friends.
Brennan also visited the pumpkin patch and turned nine months old on October 11. He had a great 9-month check up, sans the shots and finger prick. He weighed in at 16 lbs. 8 oz. (5th percentile) and was 28 inches long (50th percentile). He's already gained weight since then and is about 17 lbs. now. Don received his ordination exam resulsts and he passed ALL of them! This is great for many reasons. Don won't have to retake any and we can move forward with the PCUSA ordination process. We also had a happy halloween with Brennan as a little tiger (Princeton, right?). Although, trick-or-treating didn't hold much allure for him.
The beginning of November brought us to Corning, NY where we visited my brother, sister-in-law and nephew and niece. Ethan and Catie had fun hanging out with Brennan and I got to watch "The Importance of Being Earnest" with Erin (loved it!). We also went to the Rockwell Museum of Western Art. Good stuff!
Last weekend, we made our way down to see college friends Tara & Matt and their new baby, Noah. He's so cute and Brennan had fun bonking him on the head - we're still working on "gentle" - when mommy didn't catch him in time (don't worry, no babies were hurt in this process). We went in to DC and took the boys to the National Zoo. It was a beautiful day for the trip and we had a great time hanging out.
Brennan is getting to be a big boy. He claps, waves, throws his hands in the air when you say "Goooo, Brennan!", and is crawling and cruising all over the place. Snickers is a favorite toy and has fortunately been very tolerant of Brennan's "pats" (again, he's still learning about gentleness). He is also now trying table foods. He's eaten Cheerios, veggie puffs, bananas, green beans, and blueberry yogurt. We have some yams and avocados we're trying next. He's also working on his sippy cup abilities and he's had watered down apple juice (seems to like milk better, though). He also says dada, mama, tete (we think that's kitty), ah do, and other variations I can't really type. He's also starting to recognize us in pictures and loves being walked through our hallway to look at photos.
Now we're gearing up for Thanksgiving in Pennsylvania with family. Hard to believe the end of November is almost here...
